Love, in its purest form, is the essence of our existence. It is the innate force that drives our connections, compassion, and the desire for harmony. On the other hand, fear, often stemming from external influences, is a learned response that can hinder our personal growth and relationships. In this article, we explore the deep-seated nature of love and the way fear shapes our lives.

The Inherent Nature of Love

From the moment we enter this world, love is our constant companion. Babies are born with an instinctual need for love and affection. It's a universal language that transcends cultures and languages. As infants, we seek love through our cries, our smiles, and our need for physical closeness with caregivers. Love is the nurturing force that allows us to thrive and grow.

Love is not limited to the familial bond. It extends to our connections with friends, partners, and even strangers. Acts of kindness, empathy, and compassion are expressions of this innate love. When we extend a helping hand or offer a listening ear, it is love in action.

The Role of Fear

While love is our natural state, fear is a learned response. We absorb fear through various channels: society, media, personal experiences, and even well-intentioned advice. Fear often emerges as a protective mechanism, helping us navigate potentially dangerous situations. However, it can also become a barrier that restricts our growth and fulfillment.

Fear manifests in various forms, including anxiety, insecurity, jealousy, and prejudice. It can cloud our judgment, hinder our ability to trust, and lead to defensive behaviors. Fear may even prompt us to build emotional walls to shield ourselves from potential hurt.

Unlearning Fear

The journey toward personal growth and self-awareness often involves unlearning fear. It means peeling back the layers of conditioning that have shaped our responses and perspectives. To do this, we must confront our fears head-on and question their validity.

Recognizing that many fears are rooted in past experiences or irrational beliefs is a crucial step. Practicing mindfulness and self-compassion can help us acknowledge our fears without judgment. By understanding the source of our fears, we can begin to challenge and gradually release them.

Fostering Love

Embracing our inherent capacity for love requires intentional effort. We can nurture love within ourselves by practicing self-love and self-acceptance. When we cultivate a loving relationship with ourselves, we are better equipped to extend that love to others.

Additionally, fostering love involves creating an environment where love can flourish. This means surrounding ourselves with positive influences, nurturing healthy relationships, and engaging in acts of kindness and empathy.

 The Attraction of Vulnerability: Understanding the Image of Jesus on the Cross

Introduction:

The image of Jesus on the cross has been a powerful symbol in Christianity for centuries. It portrays a human being, naked, broken, and scarred, hanging in vulnerability. While it may be agonizing to witness, there is an inexplicable attraction to this depiction. What lies beneath this attraction, and why does it resonate so deeply within us?

The Vulnerability of Love:

At the heart of the attraction is the vulnerability of love. In this image, we see a human being who has embraced their humanity fully. Despite the physical and emotional suffering, there is a profound sense of love radiating from the figure on the cross. It is a love that goes beyond comprehension, a love that is willing to endure immense pain for the sake of others.

Deep Calling Unto Deep:

This attraction is best described as "deep calling unto deep." It is a recognition of something profound within ourselves that resonates with the vulnerability of love we see in Jesus. Overcoming Fear:

In doing so, he invites us to do the same – to overcome our fear of being truly ourselves. It is a call to reveal our authentic selves, complete with our imperfections and wounds, knowing that it is through vulnerability that we find strength.

Setting Ourselves Free:

We are called to free the love that resides within us, often kept crucified, dead, and buried due to our fears and insecurities. The question of whether God will reconcile all of humanity to Himself is a profound theological inquiry that has sparked debates and discussions among various Christian traditions for centuries. Different theological perspectives offer diverse answers to this question, reflecting their beliefs about the nature of God and the extent of His redemptive plan. This article explores the views of Calvinists, Arminians, and Universalists on the matter, drawing insights from II Corinthians 5:19.

CALVINIST PERSPECTIVE 

Calvinism, a theological system attributed to John Calvin, asserts the sovereignty of God in all matters, including salvation. Calvinists believe that God possesses the ability to reconcile all of humanity to Himself but chooses not to do so. They emphasize God's selective election of individuals for salvation and believe that His plan includes predestining some for eternal life while passing over others. In the Calvinist view, God's will in this matter is absolute, and He extends His grace only to the elect.

ARMINIAN PERSPECTIVE 

Arminianism, named after Jacob Arminius, presents a different perspective. Arminians contend that God would desire to reconcile all of humanity to Himself, but His respect for human free will limits His ability to do so. They emphasize human choice and the need for a willing response to God's offer of salvation. According to Arminians, God's grace is available to all, but individuals must choose to accept or reject it. This perspective places more agency in the hands of humanity, and salvation becomes conditional on one's faith and decision.

UNIVERSALIST PERSPECTIVE 

Universalism represents a distinctive viewpoint in this debate. Universalists believe that God can and will reconcile all of humanity to Himself. They maintain that God's love is unconditional and all-encompassing, and His redemptive plan extends to every individual, ultimately leading to universal salvation. This perspective emphasizes the boundless nature of God's grace and the belief that God's love will ultimately prevail, drawing all souls back to Him.

II Corinthians 5:19

II Corinthians 5:19, a key passage in this discussion, reads: "that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation" (ESV).

Imagine a world where your identity isn't defined by the circumstances of your birth. Who would you be if you were born the opposite sex, another race, raised under a different belief system, lived with a disability, or in a family of varying economic means? How would your life differ if you were royalty? These questions invite us to ponder the essence of our shared humanity and the possibility of finding common ground beyond our differences.

At the core of these inquiries lies a fundamental question: Is there a life force within us all that transcends the boundaries of race, gender, belief, and social status? Can we tap into this universal essence and, in doing so, connect with one another on a profound level? While some may call it "heaven" or assign different names to it, the semantics matter less than the underlying concept.

The journey to understand this common thread of existence begins by recognizing that we all share the human experience. Regardless of our external attributes or circumstances, we all experience joy, sorrow, love, and pain. These emotions and experiences unite us, forming a bridge that connects every individual on this planet.

Consider, for a moment, the concept of empathy. It is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Empathy arises from recognizing the commonality of our emotional experiences. When we extend empathy to others, we acknowledge the shared humanity that binds us. In essence, we reach out from our unique positions to connect with someone who might seem different on the surface.

UNDERSTANDING THE PRESENT SIGNIFICANCE OF BIBLICAL TEACHINGS

 Understanding the Present Significance of Biblical Teachings

In a world filled with various interpretations and beliefs, it's crucial to revisit and rethink our understanding of certain religious concepts. The message is clear: Christ is not coming back in the future – HE NEVER LEFT. Salvation isn't some distant promise; it's a reality to be experienced now, in the present moment.

Often, people delve into history, attempting to construct their narratives without a true grasp of the past. Instead of using the past to build expectations, consider using it as a tool for learning. The events chronicled in various texts, including the Bible, have already unfolded.

The idea of an "endtime" is not a distant future occurrence; it is a realization that every event described in the Bible or any other sacred text has already taken place. For instance, consider the Garden of Eden from Genesis. It isn't a historical location but a state of being that you can inhabit today and you are. Similarly, the seven churches mentioned in the book of Revelation are not specific congregations but symbolic representations of various spiritual conditions.

It's important to recognize that "The Revelation of Jesus" in the Bible is not merely an eschatological forecast of future events. Instead, it is a revelation of the person, Jesus Christ, and the timeless spiritual truths He embodies. This revelation invites us to explore the depth of our faith, the nature of our existence, and the presence of divine love in our lives – HERE and NOW.

In conclusion, the wisdom of these teachings invites us to shift our perspective. Rather than waiting for a future that may never come, let's embrace the present moment and the eternal truths it holds. Christ is not coming back in the traditional sense because He has never truly left. Salvation is not a promise of tomorrow; it's a gift available to us today. By understanding the significance of these teachings, we can lead more fulfilled and spiritually rich lives in the HERE and

 NOW.

ABOVE TROUBLED TIMES

 Living within and embracing the "world" means dwelling in a realm of interconnectedness with others, which you often overlook as an extension of yourself. Your self-perception typically places you at the core of this personal universe.

What some people refer to as "heaven" can actually be experienced in the here and now while you are still immersed "in the world." It involves living from a profound inner place that represents the authentic truth of your being. In this inner realm, the concept of "others" dissolves, as all individuals are recognized as expressions of your own Self.

This profound understanding aligns with the message and life of Jesus, who endeavored to share this wisdom. A verse in scripture states, "He who is joined to the Lord is One Spirit." This One Spirit embodies LOVE, often referred to as "our father who art in heaven." This perspective allows Jesus to assert, "If you've seen me, you've seen the father," while acknowledging that his earthly, fleshly form is distinct from the divine source.

Living from this inner place of unity, you begin to see every person as a reflection of yourself, extending beyond the image in the mirror, which could be considered your "only begotten image." By embarking on a journey to connect with this inner sanctum deep within you, you can undergo a "resurrection" of Spirit. This spiritual awakening leads to the rediscovery of the Love that has always been within you throughout eternity.

May the challenges of these troubled times inspire you to dig deep within yourself, uncovering that sanctuary of perfect peace where all remains well, regardless of the chaos surrounding you. This inward exploration allows each individual to gradually perceive their true Self in one another, where Love becomes the sole essence that truly matters. If this doesn't resemble heaven, it's challenging to conceive what does.

MOVING FORWARD

When you let go of religious beliefs, you may discover and openly embrace a dormant, rebellious, or defiant aspect of your personality. There's no need to feel guilty about this transformation. Unfortunately, religion often molds individuals into polite, compliant, repressed, shy, inhibited, mannerly, obedient, fearful, and amiable people. It's worth noting that these words wouldn't typically describe Jesus. You can embody love, compassion, respect, and kindness while also being a rebellious, defiant, passionate, disobedient, subversive, nonconformist, mischievous, self-determined, fully expressive, free-thinking, heretical, and free-spirited human being.

PRETENDING

 Pretending is akin to the childhood game of separation and hide-and-seek, a play that persists into adulthood. 

Religion can often reinforce and fortify this pretense, offering promises of a glorified body, a mansion on a hill, a starry crown, and the esteemed status of being chosen for eternal life.

However, there's another perspective to consider: "He who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit," eliminating any division among us. Love serves as the force that eradicates any sense of separation between individuals.

In the words of scripture, we are "seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus," highlighting our unity.

There's a place deep within you that you call heaven...

But you think it's some place off in the sky somewhere...

ENDLESS ARGUMENT

Reflecting on all the challenges I faced within the organised institutional church , it's almost comical. 

Debates over:

---the timing of the rapture

—pre-trib, post-trib, mid-trib

—arguments about "once saved, always saved" 

versus 

the belief in potential loss of salvation.

---questions about being;

"baptized in the Spirit," 

speaking in tongues, 

discovering one's "spiritual gift," 

even the matter of head coverings for women, or whether women should wear pants. 

---Then there's the issue of casting out demons,

---unending Bible studies,

---all-night prayer vigils,

---debates about celebrating Christmas, Halloween, or Easter,

---Not to mention the perpetual discussion about which day is the right day for worship, Saturday or Sunday.

---The list continues endlessly... 

Our Focus should be...

 Love, in contrast, is incredibly simple. 

It's who we all are at our core, before we adopt any beliefs or notions of a higher power.

LOVE APART FROM GRACE

What sets Love apart from grace?

Grace comes into play within a relationship where one party has violated a law and hurt the other, often with the offended party being in a higher position.

On the other hand, Love recognizes only itself, existing in all and treating all equally. So, when an individual, mistakenly believing they are someone else, behaves in an unloving or unkind manner, Love doesn't take offense nor hold the transgressor accountable. This is because Love understands that the "other" acted out of a mistaken identity, driven by the DESIRE TO BE God, rather than embracing its true identity as Love

THE ILLUSION OF CONTROL

 The Illusion of Control

 From an early age, we are conditioned to believe that control is synonymous with success and security. We are taught to plan meticulously, set goals, and strive to manipulate our circumstances to achieve the outcomes we desire. This illusion of control, however, often leads to feelings of stress and disappointment when life inevitably deviates from our carefully crafted plans. 

In our pursuit of inner peace, it is crucial to recognize that the notion of absolute control over external events is an illusion. Life is inherently uncertain, and many factors lie beyond our influence. Clinging too tightly to the illusion of control can create a state of constant tension and anxiety.

The Truth of You

 The universal truth of righteousness from God, which is the Gospel of Christ, is that we don't need to "do" anything to "become" the righteous perfection that Christ declares us to be in the eyes of God. We are born of God from the moment of physical birth.

I once believed that some were saved from sin while others were not, creating a division of saved and unsaved. However, as a spiritual child, I couldn't see that ALL HUMANS ARE SINLESS IN GOD'S EYES. The Gospel of Christ truth eliminates all falsehoods about sin; we never had sin in God's eyes.

Humans are born of God at physical birth. After the umbilical cord connecting us to our mother's life source is cut, we are physically lifeless until we receive the breath of life, which is God. God is our life, the breath that creates life. It is God, the Breath of Life, that animates our physical bodies. We have never truly been separated from God, but many have been deceived by religious teachings into believing they have sin or are separated from God based on their actions.

The highest God, revealed through Christ's truth as taught by Jesus, does not judge sin. God, who is Love, judges all of humanity (His offspring) as righteous, sinless, and perfect IN HIS EYES. We are born of the Spirit, the Life, the Breath of God from the beginning of our physical existence.

God judges His children in righteousness, not by their sins. God sees no sin, judges no sin, and remembers no sin in His children. We have been misled by religious individuals who do not truly understand Christ.

Only religious zealots have incorrectly taught that everyone should believe in sin based on physical laws of sins. However, according to Christ, there is NO CONDEMNATION or SIN judged upon humanity. Look at the Patriarchs of the Old Testament, whom God called RIGHTEOUS, and observe their actions.

The truth of Christ from God, delivered through Jesus of Nazareth, is to tell the entire world that they are perfect and sinless in God's eyes. Christ's truth came to save those who believe in the lies of sin. Only the Jews believed in sin based on following Moses' SIN LAWS. Where there are no sin laws, there is no sin to judge. What is not of faith unto righteousness is sin.

Oneness with God is the Gospel truth. Sinlessness is Christ's truth from God. Righteousness is attained only through faith or believing in Christ's sinless truth from God.

Christ gave all of humankind the truth that they are sinless and righteous in God's eyes. That is the Good News, the Gospel truth from God. God is impartial; ALL ARE RIGHTEOUS IN HIS EYES. How humans act has nothing to do with what God declares them to be in His sight.

But who will believe in Christ's righteou

sness truth?

ONE OF A KIND

 I'd like you to take a moment to listen.

For some of you, it might be early in the day, while others might be gearing up for a busy Saturday. Some of you may even be at work.

I want to talk to you about something important. It's possible that you've been holding onto a false story about yourself, a narrative that might have been shaped by various influences, including religion or moments of heartache and rejection. It might have led you to believe untruths about yourself—like you're not good enough, you're inadequate, you're flawed, or you're worthless.

I want to emphasize that this story is not the real you. There are various ways to approach this truth. You can see yourself as an expression of a timeless and majestic whole, the eternal energy of the universe experiencing itself, or as a wave in the sea of divine love.

I could even meet you in person, have a brief conversation, and discover numerous qualities that are wonderful about you. However, you might struggle to see these positive aspects because you're viewing yourself through a filter that says something is wrong with you. You wake up every day trapped in a false narrative.

As a humanist my purpose only truly matters if people discover the truth about themselves. If I were offered a deal to give up everything I do in exchange for everyone knowing and embracing their true worth, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Let me be clear: however you arrive at this understanding—whether through philosophy, spirituality, or science—the timeless energy of the universe, the essence of eternal existence, or the foundation of all being is complete and whole on its own. And you are a part of that. For a time, you are a human being, given the opportunity to realize your divine essence. Part of this journey involves forgetting your true nature and believing the conditioned lies.

But you can figure it out, and you can be free.

So, here's my question: how much of your life are you willing to let a false story dictate? What would it mean to put an end to that narrative today and start writing a new one—one that honors your worth, uniqueness, beauty, and magnificence?

I understand that it's not as simple as it may sound, but maybe even that belief is part of the falsehood.

In essence, what I want to convey is that you are an extraordinary creation of the universe. And the reason I'm telling you this is that I don't know if anyone else ever has.

No one perceives the world through your eyes.

No one experiences life the way you do.

No one has walked your unique journey.

No one is a human being in the same way you are.

There can never be another you. You are one of a kind. What you are and who you are becoming is a gift from life to you and your gift to life.

Do you grasp that?

You are the gift.
