A verse states, "He that is joined to the Lord is One Spirit," and this One Spirit is LOVE, often referred to as "our father who art in heaven." This explains how Jesus could say, "If you've seen me, you've seen the father," yet acknowledge, "My father is greater than I," pertaining to the physical form.
