YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Him: We are not allowed to go outside the Bible.
Me: My friend, you are in captivity.
Him: How do you mean?
Me: You said it yourself when you said, "We are not allowed." You are not free to read what you want, except what they want you to read. If you don't know you are imprisoned, then your situation is even more pathetic.
Him: They are protecting us from deceptions.
Me: Truth is free; everyone should be allowed to discover the truth for themselves. Truth needs no protection, but lies need to be protected. If what you are being taught is the truth, why are you scared of being deceived? The fear of deception means one thing, you are still in the dark because if you are in the light, you will not fear...
Him: Honestly, I am afraid of being deceived.
Me: I understand your fears, I was once there but not anymore.
Him: How did you do it?
Me: I left religion completely. I started turning inward to the spirit within me.
Him: It is difficult, though.
Me: Yes, I know, but that's the price to pay to be free and be yourself. You must work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. It is your choice to make; I have made mine.
Him: I'm just not sure I can take that step.
Me: It's a personal journey, and it can be incredibly challenging. But remember, you're not alone in this. There are communities and resources that can support you along the way if you decide to explore beyond the confines of your current beliefs.
Him: I'm afraid of the consequences from my family and community.
Me: That's a valid concern, and it's a tough situation. But your happiness and authenticity are essential. Sometimes, people find ways to maintain a balance or gradually introduce new perspectives to their family and community. It's all about what feels right for you.
Him: I appreciate your understanding and advice.
Me: You're welcome. Just remember, it's your journey, and you have the power to shape it in a way that aligns with your true self. If you ever want to talk more or have questions, feel free to reach out.
Him: Thank you for being there and offering support. It's comforting to know there are people who have gone through similar experiences.
Me: You're absolutely welcome. It can be a lonely path, but you're not alone in your journey to seek truth and personal authenticity. Many have walked similar paths, and there's a wealth of shared experiences and wisdom to draw from.
Him: I think I'll start by exploring some alternative perspectives and beliefs. Baby steps, you know?
Me: That's a great approach. Take your time, explore, and learn. There's no rush, and it's about what feels right for you. Feel free to ask questions or seek guidance as you go along. Remember, it's all about personal growth and self-discovery.
Him: I appreciate your support and guidance. It's given me some hope.
Me: I'm glad to hear that. Remember, hope and self-discovery are powerful motivators. Whenever you need someone to talk to or have questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Your journey is important, and I'm here to support you in any way I can.
Him: Thank you. I will keep that in mind.
